A Little Love Poster 1800x2700.PNG

What is love? Through interspersed conversation and prose, a poet and a neuroscientist explore the definition of love, what it means, and why it matters.

A Little Love

‘A Little Love’ explores contrasting yet complimentary explorations of love through interviews with award winning Canadian poet Kate Cayley, and renowned neuroscientist Sandra Langeslag. Through this documentary we journey from the conception all the way to the death of a relationship, all the while rotating through poetic views of the experience, and the biophysical realities of it. Through this experimental documentary we hope to provide viewers with a well rounded perspective on their own emotions, to hopefully allow the audience to understand themselves, their brains, and their bodies a little better.

Naomi Katz is the director of A Little Love, a documentary that explores the meaning of love—what it is, why it matters, and how it feels. As a young person navigating the complexities of emotion, Naomi has often struggled to identify and define love. At times, it seemed to appear clearly, only to dissolve into uncertainty. She wondered: Is this feeling truly love? Is it the same as what others experience, or is it something entirely

different? And if this is love, why can it feel so painful? For a long time, Naomi believed these doubts were uniquely hers. However, through interviews with poets, neuroscientists, and other professionals, she discovered that these emotional fluctuations are far more universal than she imagined. A Little Love was created to give shape and imagery to the abstract concept of love, allowing viewers to witness and connect with its many dimensions. Naomi’s hope is that, through this film, others may feel a little less alone in their own journeys of understanding and experiencing love.
